Is honey and clover good?

the questions self explanatory but i was wondering if it actually gets better, ive seen 6 episodes and hate Mayama Takumi but love Yamada Ayumi. if they end up together i dont know what i will think. anyway does this get better and will i eventually like mayama also will romance develop?
